Why it works
The moment a message is sent, its translation shows up in the same conversation, visible to everyone. Nothing to download, no account to remember — grandparents can use it too.
Chinese messages are translated into the other language, and replies are translated back into Chinese. The bot works out who is writing in which language by itself — no commands to type.
In translate mode, a message is translated and discarded. It is never written to a database, so nobody can go back and read your group’s conversation.
Two steps, one minute
Scan the QR code below, search for @973qbaxn in LINE, or tap this link to add “翻譯小年糕” as a friend.
In the group, tap “Invite” → choose 翻譯小年糕. It starts translating the moment it joins; the default pair is Traditional Chinese ⇄ Indonesian.
Open your 1-to-1 chat with the bot, tap the “設定” (Settings) button below the message, pick the group, and change the languages, the translation mode and the filter level.
Each group has one language pair. Change it any time.
Chinese is not required: set the main language to Thai and the translation language to Indonesian, and you have a Thai ⇄ Indonesian group.

No. In translate mode a message is translated and discarded; the content is never written to a database and we never look back at your group’s conversation. The system only records the monthly message count to measure usage. The translation itself is done by the OpenAI API, so each message is sent to OpenAI at the moment it is translated.
Traditional Chinese, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Filipino, Thai, English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Portuguese — 13 languages in total. Each group has one pair at a time, and you can change it in Settings whenever you like.
Say someone writes Indonesian in a “Chinese ⇄ English” group: the bot translates it into both Chinese and English, so both sides understand and nobody is left out.
It is AI translation. It is good enough for everyday family messages (medicine, pick-ups, groceries, arranging times) and it understands emoji and casual speech. It is not a professional translator, though — for medical, legal or contract documents, please have a professional check.
Yes. Open your 1-to-1 chat with the bot, tap “設定” (Settings) below the message, pick the group on the settings page and set “Mode” to “Off”. The bot then ignores every message completely; set it back to “Translate” to resume.
3,000 messages per group per month. A normal family group never gets near it; the bot warns you as you approach the limit, and the count resets on the 1st of every month.
After the 7-day trial there is a 3-day grace period, during which the bot posts a subscription notice in the group. You can also start it yourself: open your 1-to-1 chat with the bot, tap “設定” (Settings) below the message, pick the group, tap “管理訂閱” (Manage subscription) in the “Subscription” section, choose monthly or yearly, enter an email for the receipt and tap “前往付款” (Pay) to subscribe by credit card (recurring ECPay charge). After that it renews automatically. If you don’t subscribe, translation pauses by itself and nothing is ever charged.
You can cancel yourself, effective immediately: open your 1-to-1 chat with the bot, tap “設定” (Settings), pick the group, tap “管理訂閱” (Manage subscription) in the “Subscription” section, then “取消訂閱” (Cancel subscription). No further charges are made and the service runs until the end of the paid period. If you have trouble, email hello@mochichat.app. Please note: removing the bot from the group does not stop the charges — cancel as described above.
